The Yankees returned home to their good luck charm Friday, with Bronxie the turtle’s newfound fame on full display. Joey Gallo, Tyler Wade and Rougned Odor were among the Yankees wearing Bronxie”T-shirts while taking batting practice. The navy blue shirts had an image of a turtle, with a pinstriped stomach, making the gesture the Yankees do after a big hit. The Yankees entered Friday - since Nestor Cortes Jr. bought the small turtle at a Bronx pet store last week, as ESPN first reported. Bronxie made the trip to Boston last weekend, where the Yankees swept the Red Sox, but did not cross international borders for their series against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Cortes was set to start Friday’s game against the Rays as the Yankees looked to clinch an AL wild card.
