Boston Business Chief Billy Sullivan Was Awarded

On November 16, 1959, Boston business chief Billy Sullivan was awarded the eighth and final franchise of the developing NFL (AFL). The following winter, locals were allowed to submit the idea for the official name of the Boston football team. The most popular choice - Sullivan's choice - was "Boston patriots." Since then, Phil Bissell, a "Boston globe" artist, has developed the Pat Patriot logo Madden Mobile Coins.

The patriots spent most of their time in the AFL, and they never had a regular home stadium. Nickerson field, harvard stadium, fenway park and alumni stadium are home to the NFL. After the 1963 season, they played only in an AFL championship game, losing to San Diego chargers 51-10. They were again 13 years after the AFL or NFL season.
