There are endless opportunities in case one is exploring exquisite careers in the fashion industry. The fashion industry is full of glitz and there are lavish textiles and accessories for the buyers. To help you find your true calling and take your passion for fashion to the next level, we are presenting the most promising and popular careers in fashion.

Fashion Designer



A Fashion Designer is primarily responsible for designing and making clothing or accessories. A fashion Designer’s responsibilities include monitoring design teams to turn their designs into a reality and promoting their designs for retail or other market. Fashion Designers work with large retail brands, boutique labels, etc. Poddar International College offers B. Des. comprising Bachelors in Fashion Designing (B. Des.), in addition to diploma and certificate courses. To provide related insights to the design students an Entrepreneurship Development Training was organized by Poddar International College.



Textile Designer

A Textile Designer creates two-dimensional designs are used, often as a repeat design, in the production of knit, weave and printed fabrics or textile products textile designer produces sketches, designs, and samples for presentation to customers, making sample design sets, liaising with clients, marketing and buying staff to plan and develop designs. The students of Poddar International College from Design Department recently participated in a workshop organized by Jaipur Rugs in association with Crafts Council of Weavers and Artisans.



Fashion Graphic Designer



A fashion graphic designer is responsible for creating graphics for different items of clothing and accessories and producing promotional material for an advertising campaigns. Research, keeping updated with emerging fabric fashion trends, shapes, and colors, etc. are the key roles of fashion graphic designer. The Design department of Poddar International College provided a Special Lecture on ‘Design and Color Psychology’ for the students of Vedic Kanya College.



Fashion Stylist



Fashion stylist takes a photographer or art director’s vision for a photo shoot or film and bring it to life. This is in fact a very creative role – fashion stylists work with many media organizations, including editorial print, advertising, film and online. The Fashion Design Department of Poddar International College organized a Workshop on ‘Fashion Styling’ for Fashion Department students providing useful for enhancing their fashion knowledge and styling.



Fashion Public Relations

Fashion Public Relations roles have a glamorous appeal, and the job is very people-focused. PRs work with fashion labels and retailers to build a strong brand profile and public image, and assist with the media coverage of new product launches. Fashion writers work for newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs and television. A Fashion Runway was organized by Poddar International College where students showcased their outfits for the renowned models and supermodels for ramp shows. There was a wide media coverage of this mega event and helped the college building networks with eminent Fashion Designers and models for good PR relations.

The scope of the fashion industry is increasing, and in the current scenario, with so much potential, the industry offers employment in the most lucrative fields.
