The South Korean national team confirmed themselves to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup after successfully bending Syria with a score of 2-0 at the Rashid Stadium, Dubai, Tuesday (1/2/2022) night WIB.

The two Hanguk Warriors winning goals were scored by Kim Jin-su (53') and Kwon Chang-hoon in the 71st minute.

With this victory, Paulo Bento's men managed to establish themselves in 2nd place in the Group A standings for the 2022 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone with a collection of 20 points.

The number of points that Korea has collected is impossible for its closest rival, the United Arab Emirates (9 points).

Meanwhile, the leaders of Group A, the Iranian national team have also confirmed themselves to qualify for Qatar on January 27 last. Iran became the first Asian country to qualify for the 2022 World Cup via qualification.

Thus, Asia has sent two representatives to the 2022 World Cup from the 4-5 allotments given by FIFA.

The top two teams from the third round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone will qualify automatically.

While the third-placed will advance to the fourth round to play an intercontinental play-off against the fifth place in the CONMEBOL 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

Liverpool star Takumi Minamino scored Japan's first goal and it was fulfilled by Junya Ito.
