Are the Best Skin Products for Aging Skin Organic?

Let's face it. It makes sense to believe that the best skin products for aging skin are organic. But is this actually true? When it comes to rubbing substances into our skin, especially on our face, we need to be sure they are safe, as well as, effective. So why don't we take a close look at a commonly-used generic product and see exactly what it's made of. This way you'll have a better idea of what to look for when comes to products you can trust to truly care for your aging skin.

Why don't we start with the foundation of good skin care - moisturizer. You know how tight, dry and uncomfortable your face can feel if you fail to use a moisturizing product. However, you'll find that the majority of mainstream moisturizers contain ingredients that aren't very good for your skin.

One of the main ingredients is mineral oil. You will also see this substance listed under other names such as liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum. This is a petroleum product derived from the refining process of crude oil. Doesn't sound too appealing, does it?

Rather than being a great moisturizer, it actually harms your skin by clogging pores and preventing the natural elimination of toxins. When you skin can't breathe you're likely to develop flare-ups and breakouts.

Furthermore, with long-term use, your skin is likely to become dependent on it, leading to even more dryness.

The next ingredient commonly found in moisturizing products is propylene glycol. Derived from alcohol, this chemical does double duty in products such as antifreeze and salad dressing.

What does this substance have to do with keeping your skin moist and supple? Nothing. It's used in combination with other ingredients to create a product with a smooth, creamy consistency (Ranch Dressing, anyone?)

Another commonly-used ingredient is dimethicone. You may or may not be surprised to learn that this chemical is typically contained in pesticides. If this can kill bugs, think what it's doing to your skin.

Last, but not least, there are the preservatives such as paraben and sodium dehydroacetate which, again, have nothing to do with your skin and everything to do with the shelf-life of product.

There have been some studies which suggest these preservatives can be linked to an increased risk of cancer, in addition to causing problems with the endocrine system. Furthermore, repeated exposure can trigger allergic reactions and skin rashes.

But what about other skin products for aging skin? Well, I won't waste your time, since an examination of ANY of these products will reveal the same synthetic chemicals previously mentioned.

Why?

You see, for over fifty years, cosmetic companies have used these chemical formulations to make all of their product lines because they are dirt cheap, leaving plenty of money for advertising. This business model has earned them billions of dollars over the years.

So compare this to organically-formulated products.

Instead of petroleum-based ingredients, organic moisturizer is likely to contain bio-active substances like avocado, macadamia nut or jojoba oils, and shea butter.

In addition to being safe, their molecular similarities with your จุดด่างดำ help them to be readily and deeply absorbed. They also contain nutrients which nourish and support healthy skin cell function.

The best skin products for aging skin will also contain other organic ingredients such as natural vitamins, minerals, peptides and enzymes, all formulated to boost and reinforce the structure and elasticity of your skin.

The only downside to using organic skincare products is that they are more expensive. But the higher price seems reasonable when you take into account the efforts which go into rigorous research, development and testing.
