Although he was influenced by other MMOs however, the design and structure that was the basis of RuneScape was one that he took very seriously RuneScape Gold, creating into the universe of Melvor Idle, a world that is a parallel one to the 20 years old RPG. "RuneScape became a key reference point for the game since it was such an important sport for me" said the game's creator."

As with many others, I was a newbie to RuneScape because most of my friends was playing the game. The fact that it was browser-based is a large part of this, and the lower barrier for entry combined with RuneScape's depth of branching and complexity were what I kept coming back to the game for a long time -- something that I wanted to replicate with Melvor Idle."

With Malcolm quite transparent about his ideas when he was interviewed, word soon got to Jagex that a fan was building a game based on the company's own MMO. A staff member flagged it to management, with the director of management of products Chris Pfeiffer telling us his team was impressed by "how much was achieved and how well it aligned with RuneScape."

"The concept for Melvor Idle is also completely in sync with our core values regarding what makes a living game -- it was a perfect match our company RuneScape 2007 Gold," He says. "Furthermore, the idea of offering someone in our community the chance to be a part of this has really excited everyone within the company."
