Qatari club Al-Sadd announced that Xavi has left the position of the head coach of the team and took over the leadership of Barcelona.

“Al-Sadda's management agreed to transfer Xavi to Barcelona after the club paid the compensation stipulated in the contract. Xavi is an important part of our history, we wish him the best of luck. A few days ago, he told us about his desire to lead Barcelona, ​​as his home team is in critical condition. We decided not to interfere with this desire, ”the Qatari club said in an official statement.

The term of Xavi's contract with Barcelona has not been specified. Earlier it was reported that the amount of compensation in the contract of a 41-year-old specialist with Al-Sadd is 5 million euros. The previous coach of Barcelona was Ronald Koeman.

Xavi is a Barcelona graduate who played for the main team of the blue garnet from 1998 to 2015, after which he moved to Al-Sadd, where he retired and began working as a coach.
