A New Digimon Story Game Is In Development Apart From Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory

A new Digimon Story game is development other than Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, based on Hacker’s Memory producer Kazumasa Habu. 4gamer conducted interviews with him recently, which revealed this Digimon Masters Online Tera fact, along with a bit more in regards to the future in the Cyber Sleuth sub-series.

4gamer: While we experienced an engaging talk regarding the past, let’s affect the topic to Hacker’s Memory. Can you describe this process behind the making on the game?

Kazumasa Habu, producer: Thanks to your consumers Cyber Sleuth was obviously a success, and talk emerged about making a different Digimon Story game. On this time, for that next game one in the targets ended up being account for overseas fans and markets likewise.

4gamer: I see, so Cyber Sleuth received quite good reviews overseas too.

Habu: While we received great reviews within Japan, we also received favorable reviews overseas also, therefore we will expand the series using a worldwide view to any extent further. However, the PS4 has become the leading hardware overseas, even though the PS Vita has barely any retail space. That is why we decided to port Cyber Sleuth to PS4 for that physical version.

4gamer: True, Digimon World –next 0rder-, that has been also brought overseas, have also been ported through the PS Vita to PS4.

Habu: That’s right. Accordingly, the subsequent game will probably be made on PlayStation 4 hardware natively. However, meaning we not merely have to remake the engine for PS4, but also must refresh and redo the graphics. To do all this through the very beginning would take 3-4 years, which may be quite a lengthy gap from Cyber Sleuth.

We believe ‘maintaining fan enthusiasm’ is very important towards the Digimon IP. To do this, Digimon content articles are provided using a regular basis.

On here, whilst the new Digimon Story game is within the works, to help keep fanning the flames of enthusiasm we belief that with Hacker’s Memory we might provide another angle to the storyplot of Cyber Sleuth.

4gamer: So there's a different Digimon Story project from the works in addition to DMO Tera Cyber Sleuth. That is rather surprising.

Habu: Hacker’s Memory will be promoted officially quite a bit less ‘a different game within the Digimon Story series’, but rather a fresh ‘Cyber Sleuth series’ game, that is intentional. Part of it originates from my feelings of attempting to provide a solid game for fans who enjoyed the prior game too.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will come for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on December 14, 2017. It will come on the PlayStation 4 inside the Americas and Europe on January 19, 2018.
