Osha wakes up early in the dawn and leaves Theon's room, stabs a guard and flees with Bran, Rickon and Hodor. Tywin believes that the murder of Amory was an attempt against his life and orders Gregor to burn villages to the ground. Sansa menstruates during the night and tries to hide it with Shaw but they are surprised by The Hound and Sansa has a meeting with Cersei. Jaime kills Alton Lannister in his cell and when Torrhen comes to see, he strangles him and flees. However he is captured and Lord Rickard wants to kill him for the death of his son Torrhen but Catelyn protects Jaime. Jon Snow searches the Night's Watch patrol with Ygritte and she leads him to an ambush. Daenerys finds who had stolen her dragons, as part of a coup d' etat in Qarth.
Bran and Rickon have escaped Winterfell. Theon tries to hunt them down. Daenerys' dragons have been stolen. Jon travels through the wilderness with Ygritte as his prisoner. Sansa has bled and is now ready to have Joffrey's children.
This episode opens the morning after the previous one ended and Theon is furious that Bron has escaped from Winterfell; if he is to keep control of the situation he believes he must get the boy back; after all what kind of leader is he if he can't keep a crippled boy prisoner? North of the wall Jon Snow's prisoner, Wildling girl Ygritte, is tormenting him with sexual offers she knows will test his vows. Back in the capital Sansa is terrified when she has her first period as it means she will be expected to bear Joffrey's children… something even Cersei has sympathy for. Across the Narrow Sea in Qarth Daenerys is determined to get her dragons back but those who have stolen them have other plans for them… and her. Elsewhere Jaime Lannister's life is danger after he kills one of his guards and Tywin Lannister lets Arya know that he suspects she isn't the lowborn girl she is claiming to be.

This is another solid episode. It gets off to a fine start; with each passing episode Theon is becoming less likable; Alfie Allen is doing a fine job in the role. While he is becoming less sympathetic the previously despicable Cersei Lannister is showing a softer side as she talks to first Sansa then her brother Tyrion; for once she acknowledges that Joffrey is never going to be a good person. The scenes north of the wall were rather fun; Rose Leslie did a particularly good job as Ygritte as she constantly torments poor Jon Snow. While several plot threads are nicely advanced it is the scenes in Qarth that provide the biggest shock as most of the city's rulers are murdered… although the final scene in Winterfell is disturbing too. Overall yet another fine episode that again leaves the viewer keen to see what happens next. Very good coming of age events. The princess discovers she is of an age to have children and now must give herself to Joffrey. Theon moves on way over his head. He chases the Stark boys with thoughts of their deaths. Catelyn may finally show the hate and emotion she has saved up for the King Killer. Jon is put in a terrible place, listening to the Wilding girl abuse his manhood. He has to hearken back to his oath to the watch. This, unfortunately, brings him into great jeopardy. Anya is becoming entertainment for her captor; he is able to speak frankly with him. She is feeling her way out, having thoughts of murder, but she is also respectful of him (to a point). Shadow people kill most of the Thirteen and the Mother of Dragons has only one goal: to get her "children" back so she can pursue her quest. There is a great deal to think about, moving into the next episode.
