5 things to consider when deciding on a moving date

Basically there is no control over your moving date. You must move according to the situation. Even if you are able to decide a moving date considering the auspices that most prefer in India, it would be difficult to coordinate with your schedule with others involved including the professional Packers and Movers Hyderabad that you hire.

Regardless of whether you follow astrology, you need to decide the right day to make a move by jotting down a few questions to yourself to determine your priorities. You are required to weigh all your options and work towards a pattern that is functional and more realistic rather than superstitious. Consider a few important factors that we have lined up to guide you with the right way to move.

Off peak date

You would be able to choose an off peak date if you are flexible with regards to the dates. March to July is the peak period in India for relocation when the rates charged by the professional Movers and Packers in Bangalore are the highest. You will of course not be as flexible as to move the date ahead by months, you may also be able to choose from the weekdays rather than weekends to cut down on the cost if budget is a major concern for your move.

Your work schedule

Either you are moving on a transfer or moving to take up a new job, the flexibility window to decide on a move date is too thin. You must move according to the joining date. Therefore, the decision to fix a move date must coincide with that of the joining date at work.

Kids’ school schedules

Moving with kids can prove disruptive for their school and curriculum. Schools typically close for the academic year during March-April and this is exactly the reason for peak movement. You must decide a convenient date before the start of the next academic year in order to help your children join the classes on time.

New home lease

Home lease dates are the most crucial aspect to decide upon the moving date. Any delay will activate the rentals in the new home in addition to the rentals you are already paying up in your current home. The other aspect of home lease is the bond you may have entered with the current landlord for a certain advance notice that you may have to break. You must negotiate with your landlord for the waiver to help you move comfortably according to the new home lease agreement.

Help availability

Your schedule should also coincide with the availability of friends to help you out with packing and moving. While it is difficult to coordinate with all resources, having friends over during the process will help you especially if you have small kids. What better than close friends and relatives to babysit while you are busy packing the stuff and coordinating with the manpower.

You should ideally allot yourself enough time to prepare for relocation especially if you have large volumes to move which should be the main criteria to decide on the move date. You will need at least 6 weeks to organize a move well to make it trouble-free. Apart from the physicality of the move, you also need to be considerate towards the mental and emotional well-being of your family members before deciding on a move date. Also allow some additional time for surprises. This will allow you to be ready to face unexpected events during the move process.
