5 must-know facts before getting an MRI scan

Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a modern tool for the scanning of our body. By the use of radio waves, a powerful magnet and a computer, an MRI machine produces hi-resolution detailed images of the insides of your body.

During the procedure, doctors make you sleep on a moveable bed that would be going inside the MRI scanner. This machine is having surrounding of the circular magnet and appears like a tube-like structure. It does not involve any radiation exposure as the scanner works on magnetic fields.

MRI scans reveal a more clear difference between healthy and diseased tissue than any other tool. Also, it gives out the necessary information about internal organs, spine, joints and brain. Without any side effect, it is ideal for early detection and assists in the right treatment of disease.

We regularly see patients requiring scanning at our MRI centre in Chandigarh. Also, we make proper procedures under expert supervision to avoid fault during an MRI scan.
