3 Common Assisted Reproductive Technologies Described

Intrauterine insemination or IUI is when the sperm is introduced directly into the woman's uterus. This is often used for women who have several eggs that are not fertilized. Once, the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, the woman must ovulate one more time before the conception of a baby can take place. This method of getting pregnant involves the use of a special needle to inject the sperm directly into the eggs and is the most successful type of procedure for stimulating ovulation in women who have multiple eggs.

Indirect transfer is another type of assisted reproductive technology used today. With this process, some or all of the embryos are retrieved from the woman's body during her menstrual cycle. The embryos are then stored in a variety of ways, including in the refrigerator. If the woman wants to become pregnant later on, the embryos can be transferred back into her through the traditional methods of in vitro fertilization or the more advanced technique of direct transfer. Either way, the embryos are closely monitored to ensure the best outcome possible.

As per an IVF Center in Indore, In vitro fertilization is the procedure of fertilization, where an egg is combined completely with sperm in a dish in a laboratory without the human body being involved. The process includes stimulating and monitoring an individual's ovulation process, removing an ovarian cyst or ova from the ovaries, allowing the sperm to fertilize them in a separate culture medium at a laboratory. If successful, the embryo is then placed into the woman's uterus. This type of treatment can be performed in one of two ways - Intracytoplasmic transfer (ICT) or elective intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Final Words:

While ART has helped many women become pregnant, it also poses certain risks to the patient. Women who undergo ART (Assisted Reproductive Technologies) should fully understand the procedures and discuss them with their doctor. There are also risks to both mother and child. The health and well-being of both the mother and the fetus should always be of the utmost importance.
