10 Wooden Toys to Decorate Your Child's Room with Fun and Funniness

If you’re looking for some cute ways to decorate your child’s room, look no further than the plethora of wooden toys. While I normally steer clear of the plastic toy section (they’re just not as much fun), wooden toys have their benefits – they’re easy on the wallet and you can get a ton of ideas for decorating. But, they also have their fair share of problems.
The first problem I see with buying wooden toys is the lack of diversity. While there are plenty of unique wooden toys that would look perfect in any room, there are not as many that are actually fun. If you’re looking for some ideas that aren’t just a bunch of animal shapes, check out these 10 wooden toys to decorate your child’s room with fun and funness.

Make Your Own Wooden Toys

It’s important to note that you don’t need to buy wooden toys. In fact, you may end up spending more money on toys that you don’t actually want to play with. It’s just that it’s easier to convince yourself that you need a new set of trucks when you have a few wooden toys in your closet.
Once you’ve found the perfect wooden toys for your child, the next step is to make them. The first step is to cut them. A good rule of thumb is to cut your toys on the grain. This will give each piece a different texture and keep the overall piece from looking plain.
Once you’ve cut your wooden toys, it’s time to play. You can either use them as-is or use them to teach your child new skills. For example, you could use a wooden train to get your child moving, or you could use it to teach her about line art.
