After listening to the talk, we started exploring Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, looking for molds together. I took a few notes while roaming, so I will try to share my best knowledge. Please note, I have no idea, so I might name the wrong mushrooms, or mispronounce them. Please let me know if you see a mistake.

Boletes

The first mushroom found was a bolete. If you turn it upside down, it has holes instead of holes. These mushrooms are made up of many tiny tubes that are close together. Click on the image to see all of their tiny holes.

Hypholoma - sulfur tuft

These little mushrooms were hiding under some leaves under a tree. Our guide revealed that interstellar movie online glow under UV light. Marc has a UV torch under his bag, so we got it for inspection. Good eh !? This one is poisonous, so don't eat mushrooms!

Puffballs

These little mushrooms are so cool! They have no gills, instead, inside they look like pure white marshmallows. You can eat them, but before you try them, you need to cut them in half and make sure they are completely white. Once it starts to turn yellow, do not eat it. As the puffpalls grow, the inside turns to dust (well, particles.) It was all swollen at the moment, but our guide turned it off, and showed us how the particles came out and spread in the air.

Honey Mushrooms

We found a few large pieces of honey mushrooms. These are just the tip of the iceberg. There is a whole web of white fibers called mycelium that attach to the mold underground. Mushrooms are just another facet of life. They are edible, but just caps. Also, you thegaiavoice.com cook them before you eat them. These mushrooms are very common here in Vancouver. Now that we know what to look for, Marc and I continue to find them.

False chanterelle

The downward orange mushroom is a false chanterelle. These grow near douglas fir when there is moss, but no trees. We were told that real chanterelles had false gills, fake chanterelles with real bees. You can eat false chanterelles, but they are not The Gaia Voice and they are not very tasty.

Polypores

We finally found a few polypores. Sometimes they cry. We were told that if you got one up (above doggy pee pee height) you could lick those dewdrops. Obviously they are really fun.

Sex of mushrooms and sex

We learned some interesting things about mushroom sex. It turns out that they have hundreds of different sexes, rather than just two. Mushroom seeds can grow into hyphal fibers made up of single cell chains. Each cell is haploid (so it has a portion of the DNA they need.) Each strand needs to be joined to another branch of the alphabet in order to be complete.

When these strands meet, they attach to each other and connect with each other. Then, when they combine, they interstellar movie online two nuclei inside a single cell (diploid). Sex takes place inside a mushroom, only if they have different genes. Everything is very good.
