This is a tale of my last excursion to the Arctic via boat. It sounded fantastic, National Geographic trip thru the ice and back with polar bears, and several other wildlife. There would be the ice everywhere, and snow all around. Man-made machines were going to fight the elements, and cut through the northern desert that was frozen. It sounded incredible, like an epic combat against the weather north and the pole.
