can change the landscape beyond

It is the fall of the Earth, when Superman succumbs to Anti-Life. And then he sends Flash to the past to change an item so that doesn’t happen. And then the great battle in which we defeated him. When Darkseid arrives on Earth, in the movie you’ll never see, Earth’s armies unite again, just like they did before. This time there would be aircraft carriers and Special Forces men, all the armies of the world would unite, as well as the Atlanteans coming out of the ocean and the Amazons from…

can change the landscape beyond

We apologize for the irritating windscreen wipers, but the snow was so heavy that our test driver couldn’t see without them.

Uber says it will give its 70,000 UK drivers a guaranteed minimum wage, holiday pay and pensions in a move that could prompt a shake up of the country's gig economy.

The ride-hailing giant said all drivers would earn at least the National Living Wage, which is £8.72 an hour.

The Melbourne Cup is the richest horse race in Australia and it is the race that stops a nation, well two nations counting New Zealand. There will not be that many people in either country who have not had a financial interest in the outcome of the race even if it is just the work sweepstake. For many people, their annual flutter on this great race will be their only wager on the horses for the year but whether you are a once-a-year-punter or like to follow the horses regularly then the tips…

Smart solutions sought to make orbital traffic

A mission will launch to space this weekend that aims to demonstrate commercial technology to remove orbital debris, such as a defunct satellite.

The showcase is being staged by the Astroscale company and will be run from an operations centre in the UK.

With more and more satellites being launched every year, there is now an imperative to try to keep orbits above the Earth clear of old junk.

And this ought to drive a vibrant market for debris removal services.

“We are…

Jeffrey Berns, the cryptocurrency millionaire who proposed the idea, is convinced of its revolutionary potential. The challenge now is changing the minds of sceptics who are not. For some, one man’s utopia is their dystopia.

Loosely translated from Ancient Greek, utopia means “nowhere”. A place that doesn’t exist.

For now, this is an apt…

It’s no wonder polling shows that nearly half of U.S. workers want to keep working from home even after restrictions lift: There’s so much more flexibility. Without a commute, hours are less set. Without an office, everyone is less subject to the group norms that have night owls trying to look alert at 8 a.m., and that makes people self-conscious about leaving the building for any reason.

Still, many people feel reticent about using this freedom. Anecdotes abound of people sitting…

Vaccines are amazing, life-saving innovations, and the COVID-19 vaccines are no different. As with any medical procedure, there are potential drawbacks to using them, but we know from massive pieces of scientific research that the COVID-19 vaccines are both safe and effective.

And yet, as you have probably heard on the news, for one specific vaccine most of Europe has stopped their rollout. Rather than giving millions of people the Astrazeneca/Oxford (AZ) vaccine against COVID-19, a…

Gov. Jay Inslee today signed an emergency proclamation prohibiting all public K-12 schools in Washington from failing to provide opportunities in both remote instruction and on-campus, in-person instruction. The proclamation aims to address the alarming educational inequities and mental health concerns among students as a result of prolonged remote education.

This has been a long year for our state’s students and their families. They have lived with fear and uncertainty, Inslee said…

Last week, a woman was walking home, in Clapham. It’s a leafy not-quite suburb of London, with an old park in the middle, surrounded by little homes full of young families and young people just beginning their careers. Think of it as reminiscent of a Park Slope, in Brooklyn. As she walked home, through this gentle and usually quiet neighbourhood, she was brutally assaulted and killed.

Her remains were found a week later. And the suspected killer, it turned out, was allegedly a serving…

Under the proclamation, schools will be allowed to stagger the reintroduction of students to campus. Schools will be expected to provide an in-person learning option that equates to at least 30% of instructional time by two key deadlines:

landscape feels like watching a toddler trying

You’re supposed to be patient when it takes them 17 minutes to tie their shoelaces. You’re supposed to applaud their migraine-inducing attempts to play the violin. You’re supposed to give your undivided attention as they tell stories that somehow lack a beginning, a middle, and an end.

But worst of all is when a child wants to “help” you with something. You know that accepting their help will quadruple the time, energy, and resources required to get anything done. You realise that it’d…
