Enzalutamide, also known as Xtandi (enzalutamide), is a drug in the same class as abiraterone acetate that targets androgen receptors. It is used to treat prostate cancer. On February 18, 2016, the FDA approved enzalutamide for use in combination with prednisone for men with advanced prostate cancer who have received prior chemotherapy. Enzalutamide works by blocking the activity of enzymes called phosphatases.
