El IEA politiza el asunto del cobro de agua en las escuelas para ocultar deficiencias administrativas, expuso el regidor José Refugio Muñoz de Luna.

Señaló que desde 1997 hasta el 2010 las instituciones educativas públicas cumplían con el pago del servicio de agua potable, mediante convenios entre el Inagua y CAASA, y a partir del 2011, en el cambio de administración, se dejó de pagar, siendo contradictorias las declaraciones de Francisco Chávez, director del IEA, donde dice que nunca se había pagado por este servicio.

Refugio Muñoz mencionó que las autoridades educativas se deben preocupar más bien por el derroche de agua que tienen en algunas escuelas y realizar campañas de concientización sobre el buen uso del agua, ante la problemática que se vive en la entidad por la escasez del recurso, en lugar de incitar a los estudiantes y padres de familia, de que ellos pagaran el servicio del agua de las escuelas.
