I obtained this in a bundle for 3.51, so that's the kind of value for money experience I'm basing this review on, rather than it's current list price of 15.99. TL:DR - Still isn't worth it, just get the Talos Principle instead. Talos may be 2x the price, but in addition to being 9-11 times the length of Pneuma, has puzzles that are clearly conveyed to the player and are rewarding to solve. In Pneuma, puzzles are solved by positioning your character to have a line of sight, or lack of line of sight, to certain elements, such as switches. If you can imagine trying to check if a switch is active, while not deactivating it by looking at it or any other switches in the area that may have to be pressed in a sequence, you can imagine how frustrating this mechanic can be. Length 100 minutes. The story is told through a narattor who beleives he is God, and who espouts all kind of philosophical nonsense throughout the entire game. You'll want to mute the game halfway through so he'll shut up for 15 seconds. So no, I can't recommend it, even if you can pick it up heavily discounted in a bundle.. Wow. This guy is really annoying! The game couldve had a nice relaxing atmosphere, but the guy JUST WON'T SHUTP UP! He won't even stop to breathe. It's horrible voice acting with horrible tone and pacing. It's a pain when you've already figured the puzzle but the dialog is still going, because you know that the second that you advance through the door, or whatever, you won't have a second to relax without his voice. I honestly don't feel like finishing the game because of his stupid remarks. The puzzles are very uninspired, really bland. Not fun to figure them out at all. No "a-ha" moment. Just "okay, what's next? argh, this?!". The controls are quite bad. I like playing with low sens (one bar ingame, 800dpi mouse), but at some point, there are three giant platforms that spin like crazy when you are looking at them, specially when you are ON them. I almost threw up my pizza. The graphics are ok. They seem nice, but I dunno. Something is missing. Like, they don't seem real. Maybe the rest is just so bad that I'm getting biased. There are a lot of graphical glitches, though. The lighting is kinda bad also. Don't buy this at full price. Maybe in a sale to spend an afternoon. But you've been warned about the stupid god that won't shut up. EDIT: Finished it. Yes. This game totally sucks.. Will make you think about perspective.. This gaphical benchmark tries too hard to be a puzzle game.. Pneuma Breath of Life, nothing more, nothing less. This game flows in a couple of days so if you are looking for a middle and easy experience inside the puzzle gaming you can try this one. Just a few enigmas were stupid, in the means that force you to step backward to solve them. but where is in this option the feedback of an unlocked door or something? I got angry about that. Really there are some good puzzle and some that I din't appreciate, but in general the game is funny. Something you can try out even if you are drunk. There is no timeout or running experience here, and this is good. Just you have to aim correctly with your mouse, even dozen of time, to solve some puzzles. A mechanic that I dislike. Differently some other puzzles uses a button or a lever, and these are controls that can be managed better and securely. That's all.
