Someone has altered the course of the Moon's orbit. Steve Austin is sent to correct it before it destroys the Earth.
This tale is often set in space and deals with the moon's orbit going out of orbit.

If you are looking for bionic thrills, part one is not the hour for you as poor Steve is mostly left on earth while the more interesting guest characters perform in space. The teleplay came from John Meredyth Lucas, of Star Trek (1966) and QM's The Fugitive (1963) fame, he did not do too many bionic hours, so maybe he was more interested in branching off into a new direction for this series.

Experts will tell that The Dark Side Of The Moon is full or errors or unexplained things, but I personally was not bothered by that as I was never bored and was mostly thrilled by this adventure. Some of the space sets are not too convincing, but since this was not usually a space series I could forgive the fact that they did not have the best sets on hand.

This leads you to wonder what would have happened if this series got a sixth season....more episodes in space?

I can't wait for part two of Dark Side Of The Moon!
