My favorite game and the only game i have ever played since I was a kid.. My favorite game and the only game i have ever played since I was a kid.. This would be cool if it was optimized. The lag makes this a chore to play.. Great game has some issues but atlest the mechanics are solid and while the steam launch was rocky as alll get out the dev team has been working on it like crazy i waited untill the bulk of the issues were fixed to revew and in its curent state i can happly recomend this game its been a long time coming.. I didn't enjoy this game. The game lags, it's overtly complicated with way too much text to read. Sure, there are many actions you can take but they are not exactly interesting. The idea of the game is to reduce the opponent's hitpoints to zero. I can understand the game but it's just not worth the time waiting. Sadly, I can't recommend it. PROS 1. Good Art It's pretty good art honestly. CONS 1. Long Load Times It takes over 30 seconds to load Alteil. 2. Lag It's laggy connecting to the server. 3. Way too many options to use Attack, Rest and Move. I was inititallly intrigued by all the options but it just couldn't work due to the lag.. Been in and out of this game for 5 years. Kept on coming back because no other card game feels the same. I recommend this game to everyone that want a card game that is beyond whoever have the bigger monster wins, whoever with the most monsters win. Hopefully, this game become more than who ever throws more cash in it wins, but we will see. To those who started game just now, brace for a hard hike up that learning curve. Some called it a discipline. Its not an easy game to pick up because of the depth this game can offer. But once you do pick it up, the possibility is limitless. It is also a good time to start considering all the new features that help out newer players. I remember when this game has next to nothing to offer for new players when it first started. Don't worry if you feel limited in stuff you can make when you first start out, the free features now will get you to that point of being creative in no time. I would love to see the continued evolution of this game, it has come a long way and will probably still have a long way to go. I believe in the devs to continue debug and solve issues. They have been active and actively listening to issues.. Going to echo all the concerns about the client being abysmal. The game is exceptionally laggy, and while I don't have issues running other games (Path of Exile, Eternal--which is where my avatar is from), the client is just.ugh. As someone who played in the old days of Alteil (and was one of its highest rated players ever), I REALLY wanted the reboot to wow me. Unfortunately, the client is extensively convoluted, and, as I'm reading, the progression is still abysmally slow. I'm really hoping I can come back to this game ONE DAY with a smooth, working client, and progression that actually smiles upon the vast majority of players. Unfortunately, that day hasn't yet come, judging by other reviews, and my own experiences.. Disclaimer - most of my playtime is on the browser version. But they seem basically the same? How is this game not a bigger deal? A zillion cards, great art, lots of gameplay I'd never seen before. Making decks is crazy! I have a backlog of 100 things to try. because you can play cards from you whole deck whenever, a lot of the strategy is deckbuilding. it's Johnny paradise. But some of the cards with lots of skills have you makeing tough choices all game long. Needs more players.
